COMMITTEES of the VICTORIA AVENUE BIA
The Victoria Avenue BIA has several committees working under the Board of Management in the following areas: Beautification; Events & Marketing; Parking; and Crime & Security.
Task forces and sub-committees may also be set up from time to time to accomplish specific tasks. Certain committees or sub-committees may have non-BIA members who are in advisory positions or willing to help out on specific projects. Final decision-making authority for all committees rests with the Board of Management.
Beautification - "To enhance the beauty of the area, the Beautification Committee is committed to working towards a clean and beautiful downtown." The Beautification Committee is responsible for the areas of streetscape, garbage removal and receptacles, benches, flowers, seasonal banner and streetlight decorations, and the white lights tree program. Events & Marketing -The Events committee is responsible for the organization, logistics, staging, hiring member partnership agreements and supervision of all Victoria Avenue BIA events that are produced by the BIA. As well they interact with other parties who may be using the BIA area as a venue, and the Marketing staff member. The Victoria Avenue BIA is always seeking feedback on new ideas and suggestions. Parking -"The BIA through the Parking Committee is committed to providing convenient affordable parking for both employees and visitors in the Victoria Avenue BIA downtown."
The Parking Committee closely monitors the parking in our downtown sector and is responsible for liasing with the municipality, assessing usage, the creation of when-needed Parking Promotional Programs, and the production of parking advertisements. Your chair is: Bill Scollie
Crime & Security - Security reviews and safety initiatives are continually being monitored to ensure public confidence in the safety of your streets. Members will be apprised of progress as this committee works to provide a solution to our Downtown street issues.
